SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE AWARDED AT GALA DINNER
Kiss 108/NECN TV Diner's Billy Costa Will Emcee
Southborough--Rob Denney, Director of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (MRAEF) has announced that the Making the Future Bright Scholarship Gala will be held on June 12 at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers. Radio and television personality, Billy Costa, will emcee the event. A Reception will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the dinner and awards program at 7:00pm. The cameras from NECN's TV Diner will be on hand to capture all of the excitement, which will be shown in a future episode of TV Diner with Billy Costa.
In addition to awarding 27 scholarships, the MRAEF will honor the Wong Family of the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus for their unceasing dedication, leadership, vision and support to the MRAEF and its scholarship program.
Also being recognized is Patricia Owens of Taunton High School. Ms. Owens has been chosen to receive the Massachusetts Teacher of Excellence Award from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. This award is given to exceptional teachers across the country who use the ProStart Program for restaurant and foodservice industry career development in the classroom.
Tickets for the event are $75 per person and will benefit the MRAEF. The MRAEF is an educational foundation created to address the diverse educational needs of the restaurant industry. It provides professional development programs to MRA members and works to develop a well-educated work force through school to career partnerships through out Massachusetts. The Foundation has awarded more than $260,000 in scholarships since its inception in 1999.
